SLADE 101
INT. RECORD STORE – MANCHESTER – DAY – 1973
The song playing is Coz I Luv You by Slade. The band's gravely voiced lead singer Noddy Holder might have been the polar opposite in looks from Brian Slade but they were glam mainstays with 17 top 20 hits, including 6 at #1.
(It's almost as if entering the record store is an introduction to (Brian) Slade.)
More on Slade,
Slade School of Fine Art, attended by Bowie's first manager Ken Pitt.
And then there's The Strange World of Gurney Slade a BBC television program starring Anthony Newley. This show (and Newley) was a favorite of David Bowie.
