Mick Rock (real name!) was the definitive photographer of the glam scene. Most of the iconic pictures of Bowie (all of Ziggy really), Lou Reed (the Transformer cover) and Iggy Pop (the Raw Power cover of Iggy in those silver leather pants) were taken by him. And of course all three of them together at the infamous press soiree at the Dorchester Hotel that Mr. Rock refers to as "The Unholy Trinity".
Aside from being a great photographer who had the sense to be at the center of what was happening in music, he is articulate and funny and his document of the time is a must have: Blood and Glitter - Glam, An Eyewitness Account. See his work at mickrock.com
